Imagen Awards Film & Television Nominees Announced Celebrating Latino Excellence for 37 Years!

Client: Aida Rodriguez – Talent, Executive Producer

The nominations for the 37th annual Imagen Awards were announced earlier today by award-winning actor, writer, and producer Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows), and actress, writer, and producer Karrie Martin Lachney (Gentefied). This year’s nominees reflect impactful storytelling, performances, writing, and creative expression across television and film. The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, October 2, in Los Angeles at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes.

“After two years of streaming celebrations, we are ecstatic to be back in person and to honor those who made significant contributions to the television, film, and streaming spaces. With the caliber of talent and the diversity of the roles and projects, our expectations were wildly exceeded with 445 entries, up 125 from 2021! We are beyond proud of this year’s nominees and all those who submitted. Given the excellence of the entries, the judges had a difficult time selecting those to be nominated.

Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees!”

The Imagen Awards continue to recognize and highlight the powerful work driven by top Latino talent, emerging faces, and seasoned creatives, which are overflowing in this year’s nominees and include Disney+ and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Encanto and the hit movie In The Heights from Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO Max. Another big win for the Latino community is the stellar performances by the cast of the Walt Disney Studios live-action movie West Side Story. In addition, HBO Max, Netflix, Disney, and Hulu remain leaders in diverse storytelling and maximizing the essence of Latino talent.

The Imagen Awards nominees are determined by an independent panel of entertainment industry executives and Latino community leaders. For more information regarding The Imagen Awards, please visit www.imagen.org.
