Everything Everywhere All at Once Actor Ke Huy Quan To Join Kung Fu Panda 4 Cast

Jack Black, who voices the titular character of the series took to his social media account to announce the inclusion of Ke Huy Quan. He will join the Kung Fu Panda family as Han, the leader of the Den of Thieves along with Jackie Chan as Money and Angelina Jolie, who will voice the Tigress.

Ke Huy Quan rose to prominence with a significant opportunity when he played the role of Short Round in the film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. More recently, he experienced a revival in his career, earning a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his outstanding performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Currently, he is expanding his presence by becoming part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and securing a role in The Electric State, a film directed by the Russo Brothers. In this project, he will be sharing the screen with Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, and Stanley Tucci.

It is the first Kung Fu Panda film to hit theaters since 2016. The first Kung Fu Panda film became DreamWorks Animation’s highest-grossing original animated film and launched a franchise that has earned more than $1.8 billion at the global box office.

What Will Be the Story of Kung Fu Panda 4?

The much-anticipated fourth installment of the Kung Fu Panda series by DreamWorks Animation was announced in August 2022.

The official synopsis of Kung Fu Panda 4 states that the film will follow as

“Po, the Dragon Warrior (Golden Globe nominee Jack Black), is called upon by destiny to … give it a rest already. More specifically, he’s tapped to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace.” In addition to this, Po must also seek a successor for the role of the Dragon Warrior. While Po aims to fulfill his leadership duties, Davis’ Chameleon seeks to bring evil back to the Valley of Peace via the ‘Staff of Wisdom’, which would give her the power to re-summon all the master villains whom Po has vanquished to the spirit realm.”

The film also welcomes Viola Davis, who this year starred in the critically acclaimed The Woman King, with the actress confirming that she will voice The Chameleon, the villain of Kung Fu Panda 4.

It’s fair to say that the cast’s level of star power will create an even higher anticipation for the film.

Kung Fu Panda 4 is slated to be released on March 8, 2024.
