The 2026 Critics Choice Awards‘ film and TV nominees have been revealed.
Sinners leads the film nominees with 17 nods, followed by One Battle After Another with 14 and Hamnet and Frankenstein with 11 nods apiece.
Sinners‘ haul, part of the 36 nominations received by studio Warner Bros., which also distributed One Battle After Another, is just one shy of fellow Warner Bros. title Barbie‘s record 18 nominations two years ago.
The Critics Choice Association revealed the nominees on E! and USA Network’s linear channels and a streaming presentation on CriticsChoice.com, E! Online and E! and USA’s YouTube channels in addition to via the CCA’s social media networks.
Other films with more than two nominations include Marty Supreme (8); seven-time nominees F1, Sentimental Value and Wicked: For Good; Train Dreams (5); Jay Kelly and Weapons (4 each); and Bugonia (3).
On the TV side, Adolescence tops the nominees with six nods, followed by five-time nominee Nobody Wants This and four-time nominees All Her Fault, Death by Lightning, Ghosts, Hacks, Severance, The Diplomat and The Pitt.
On a morning in which Hollywood was reeling from the news of Netflix buying Warner Bros., both companies led the movie and TV nominations. In terms of film nominees, Warner Bros. leads with 36 and Netflix has 27. And in the TV categories, Netflix has 31 and Warner Bros. Discovery’s HBO Max has 27.
This year, the Critics Choice Association has added four new categories: best variety series, stunt design, casting/ensemble and sound.
“We are so excited to kick off awards season in the new year, gathering hundreds of TV, film and streaming stars in one glamorous room for the first major awards show of 2026,” CCA CEO Joey Berlin said in a statement. “Our voters are the critics and entertainment reporters who help audiences find the best of the best every day, all year long. Their collective opinions are the most informed and reliable in the business. We are thrilled to share this incredible group of nominees with audiences around the world today and can’t wait to celebrate this year’s outstanding performances and projects at the Critics Choice Awards on Jan. 4.”
The 2026 Critics Choice Awards, hosted by returning emcee Chelsea Handler, are set to air live on Sunday, Jan. 4 from Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar on E! and USA from 7-10 p.m. ET and PT.
