Cohen Gardner LLP is pleased to announce that Molly Fenton has been elevated to partner at the firm.
Fenton gained experience in entertainment law as an assistant at the firm, before attending the University of Texas School of Law. Fenton rejoined the firm as an associate in 2018, after spending several years as a corporate attorney and was promoted to senior associate in 2020. By 2021, Fenton was named as one of Hollywood’s New Leaders by Variety, showing her fast rise to the ranks of entertainment dealmakers.
Fenton’s invaluable work with the firm has focused on producers, creators and on-screen talent. Fenton is outside counsel for Proximity Media (Judas & The Black Messiah, Creed 3, Underrated), Castle Rock Entertainment (Spinal Tap 2) and Significant Productions (Passing, Godfather of Harlem). She handles frontline dealmaking for directors such as two-time Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi (A Separation, A Hero), Boots Riley (Sorry to Bother You, I’m A Virgo) and Megan Park (The Fallout), prominent stand-up comedians, including Ronny Chieng (The Daily Show; Crazy Rich Asians), Ron Funches (Loot), and Zainab Johnson (Upload), as well as actors such as Tiffani Thiessen and Ke Quan. Fenton has displayed a gift for connecting with artists, while grounding her advice in strong technical analysis of the contracts.
