
The industry's must-read publication is available on the iPad in a new way, as Variety announces its inaugural app for the Apple device.
The Variety iPad app, available at no extra cost to paid subscribers, includes all Daily Variety and weekly Variety articles, images and promotions, as they appear in the publications.
"We are committed to providing news and information though the platforms most convenient for existing and new subscribers," said Variety president Neil Stiles. "Our iPad app is one of the ways we're meeting the needs of our busy, on-the-go readership."
The new application offers the experience of the paper with interactive enhancements. Readers can find articles and reviews through each issue's index or browse by flipping though the digital publication. They also have access to 49 other weeks' worth of daily and weekly Variety issues. Breaking news updates from Variety.com are also included.
Variety launched the app with tech partner BlueToad Inc., which has digitally created thousands of publications for third parties.
