Red Dragon - Producer

Indie comedy "Douchebag" has been acquired for U.S. distribution by Red Dragon Independent Film Co., which plans a September theatrical release through Paladin.

"Douchebag," which debuted in competition at Sundance this year, marks the second feature for director Drake Doremus following "Spooner." Jonathan Schwartz produced through his Super Crispy Entertainment shingle, which also produced "Spooner," along with Marius Markevicius.

"Douchebag" stars Andrew Dickler and Ben York Jones as brothers whose reluctant reunion after years of estrangement takes them on a pre-wedding road trip.

Red Dragon, founded in 2008 by Franck Dubarry, will partner on the project with former William Morris Independent head Cassian Elwes and Paladin topper Mark Urman. Red Dragon has completed production of Gela Babluani's "13," starring Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Ray Winstone and Sam Riley.
