Transforming The Word Through Comedy - Producer

Last night the inaugural live streaming comedy event “Transforming The World Through Comedy kicked off a four and a half hour three time zone live comedy event to raise money for  “Off The Mat And Into The World” to provide funds to earthquake ravaged Haiti.

Kicking off at NYC’s Gotham Comedy Club and hosted by veteran stand-up Eddie Brill at 5 PM PST for ninety minutes then switching to Chicago’s Zanies Comedy Club where host pat McGann took over, and finally ending up at LA’s Improv where cyber-host Ben Morrison presided live over the last ninety minutes.

An impressive list of headliners from coast to coast included Collin Quinn, Bonnie McFarlane, Tom Papa, Bobby Slaton, musical comedian Wayne Federman, and finally “roast master” extraordinaire Jeff Ross wrapped things up in LA at 12:30 AM EST.  More than eighty-five thousand unique viewers attend online at www.twtcomedy.com, where the historic event will be available for re-streaming for the next seven days.

Some of the evening’s highlights included Ben Morrison urging the cyber audience to donate as a “way to buy your way into heaven…the more you give the better chance you have” Jeff Ross proclaiming the real victim in the Penn Stat sex scandal…”the guy that has to clean up the showers”  And perhaps most poignant, Wyane Federman quipped that “AT&T,  American Telephone and Telegraph was the same service provider that Abraham Lincoln had”.  No wonder that this reporter was unable to view the Chicago portion as his crappy DSL kept dropping out.

At any rate, no pun intended, the public can still enjoy and donate at www.twtcomedy.com.
