Jeff B. Cohen, Esq. received his Juris Doctor from UCLA Law School with an emphasis in business law. Mr. Cohen received his undergraduate degree from The University of California at Berkeley, Haas School of Business. While at UC Berkeley, Mr. Cohen served as President of the Associated Students of the University of California.
In 2013, Mr. Cohen was and named by Variety to its “Dealmakers Impact Report.” Additionally, he was profiled by the “American Bar Association Journal” in 2014. In 2012, Law Crossing profiled Mr. Cohen as “Entertainment’s Legal Eagle.” In 2008, Mr. Cohen was named one of the “Top 35 Entertainment Executives Under 35 Years of Age” by The Hollywood Reporter.
Mr. Cohen regularly authors articles regarding business, technology, entertainment and legal matters for media outlets including The Huffington Post,CNBC, Backstage and Lawyerist. He is proud to serve on corporate boards in both the non-profit and for profit arenas.

Jonathan Gardner, Esq. attended Bowdoin College and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1996. After law school, Mr. Gardner joined the business affairs department of PolyGram Films and later served executive terms at Universal and Fox. In 2002, Mr. Gardner co-founded Cohen Gardner LLP. Since that time he has specialized in independent film production, finance and distribution, representing writers, directors and producers. In 2007, Mr. Gardner represented the directors and the producers of the opening night and closing night films at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2010 Mr. Gardner represented the director and producer of the film receiving the largest sale at the Sundance Film Festival and was profiled profiled by "Variety" in Dealmakers Impact Report as a "Future Media Maven." In 2013, Mr. Gardner represented the writer/director and the producer of the winner of the Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, as well as the winner of the Prize of the Future at the Cannes Film Festival. He has spoken on panels at South By Southwest, AFM, and at Cannes as well as numerous other film conferences.

Bradley J. Garrett, Esq. received his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. While at Loyola Law, Mr. Garrett served as Chief Articles Editor of the Loyola Entertainment Law Review, a research assistant to entertainment professor F. Jay Dougherty and studied abroad at the University of Bologna, Italy, earning an award for excellence in international business organizations. Mr. Garrett received his undergraduate degree from UCLA, where he studied American Constitutional and legal history. Prior to joining Cohen Gardner, Mr. Garrett contributed to several high-profile entertainment appeals, including those involving The Doors, Anna Nicole Smith, and "Gone in 60 Seconds.

Jennifer Wakefield, Esq. received her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law. Ms. Wakefield also studied international sports and entertainment law at the College of Law of England and Wales in London. Before joining Cohen Gardner LLP, Ms. Wakefield clerked for Universal Music Group and the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program, earning the California State Bar Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Services. Ms. Wakefield earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California, where she majored Communication with an emphasis in Entertainment, Communication and Society.
Marize Alphonso, Esq.
Marize Alphonso, Esq. received her Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law with a specialization in Entertainment, Media and Intellectual Property. While at UCLA, Ms. Alphonso served as an articles editor for the Entertainment Law Review, a coordinator of the Immigration Detention Center clinic, and the president of the South Asian Law Students’ Association. Prior to joining Cohen Gardner, Ms. Alphonso worked for NBCUniversal in the Rights Group and was a summer associate at Mitchell, Silberberg and Knupp. Ms. Alphonso received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley where she was a double-major in Rhetoric and English.
Leslie Linares is a Los Angeles native, growing up in the Hollywood area. Ms. Linares graduated from California State University, Northridge with Bachelor's degree in History. At the university, she was a four year Dean’s List member and president of the Lambda Sigma Gamma sorority. Prior to joining the firm as Office Manager in 2008, Ms. Linares worked in local television in various capacities, eventually managing business administration for multiple programs. She is fluent in Spanish.
